What is comming up for the new 2012 Birds in the 9″ and 10″ plus screens?

I’m thinking of changing both the bow (Lcx 15 Mt Lowrance) and the dash (987csi Humminbird).

I haven’t heard of any changes yet, but if there are changes coming we probably won’t hear about it until late fall.

Isn’t I-Cast some time real soon? I seem to remember it in the mid summer time, no?

It is next week. I think our own James Holst is going to be there. We could hear some news then, but the new lineups aren’t always announced that far ahead. I would not be surprised to see only minor changes in 2012.

I have to believe that sooner or later Johnson Outdoors is going to integrate the I-Pilot and the GPS function / processing capabilities of the GPS/Sonar units in a network (they already do it with their Cannon downriggers) so you can build trails and save as many trolling runs as you like on your sonar unit. Put this together with the Lakemaster chips and you will truly be able to troll contours on auto pilot with way more than the 3 allowed in memory by the I-Pilot. I hope that when this comes to be there is some amount of compatibility with legacy products, i.e. the expensive toys that we all have on our boats now.

I’m of the assumption that we (I-Pilot) owners will have to change our units somewhat to allow them to talk.
