597 CI HD DI. It is mounted on the console and has the transduced mounted to the transom. It is powered from the starting battery .

Front of the boat has a Terrova,80 pound 24 volt motor. Totally seperate from the 597. The 597 works fine until the trolling motor is turned on. Then there is erratic depth read outs and you lose the Down Imaging. As soon as you turn off the trolling motor all is well again. Also the locator works fine if the motor is set to 10 which is the highest setting. There is definite electrical interference and hope Humminbird has it figured out. The internet has many posts about this very problem with the 597. trolling motor interference kit

Also what is the deal with Charts loading every time you scan in or out.?

    Thanks for any help

Call humminbird and tell them your problem, and they should send you an interference reduction kit for free. They sent me one, and that cured the problem. Make sure you registered the unit before you call. When you zoom in or out the map needs to reload because of the data changes. The closer you zoom the more detail it has to load.
