I had a wonderful experience with Humminbird Select Customer Service on Friday afternoon. (I was heading to the lake in 2 hours).
I had uploaded some target points from Lakemaster Contour Elite and tried to verify the locations on the screen map. Since the Lake is 45 miles away, I zoomed out to speed the scrolling over to the lake. When I zoomed out 5 times the unit rebooted itself ! Repeated attempts and any scrolling caused the same result.
HB Select Customer service got right on it and we solved the problem in less than 15 mins.
PROBLEM: Waypoints& Routes with Symbols in the name caused it.
I got talked through downloading to SD Card , deleting from unit and installing into Humveiwer (automatically corrected names) and reloading into the unit (997c si)
Apparently a glitch from the latest updates I installed a few weeks prior.
VERY IMMPRESSED !!! Customer Service is the BIG Reason I switched to HB from Lo…… This just confirms it.
