Lakemaster slow to load?

I bought a Humminbird 597 DI. This for the most part is a new offering from Humminbird. After reading a bunch of threads about the pros and cons of Lakemaster or Navionics, I picked up a Minnesota Lakemaster chip.

Shortly after buying it, I came across a thread talking about how slow the Lakemaster map loads in the Humminbird fish finders. People said Navionics were much faster. (I hate when I read stuff after already making a purchase). Has anyone had this experience with the Lakemaster- Humminbird combination?

Being my LM is still in the package I could still swap it for the Navionics if I had to.

Thanks for any tips or replies!

Your LakeMaster chip is much more accurate and detailed than the Navonics chip.

The slow to load issues was in the older units before the new upgrades were installed. Of course I’m speaking to 900 and 1100 series units. I’m not sure about the 500 series.

Hopefully someone has used this combo and can shed some light on this for you.

It is the amount of data being transferred.
You can try pulling back on the zoom, to reduce refreshes
    particularly at higher boat speed.

Try switching to north up if you are using track up. It makes a big difference.
