HBird network Question

    I have an older version (859) HB 9″ GPS/Sonar combo located in the bow area of my boat. I have Gen4 HBird 10 SI/DI GPS unit on my dash. Can these units talk to each other with an ethernet connection of some kind? Looking for depth and gps on the front unit. Or is the 859 just too old to talk to the newer unit?

    I googled it and it looks like you can, but I don’t have firsthand experience with that.

    Ethernet between those two won’t share depth or GPS/Mapping. It would basically be only share waypoints and tracks. You would have to have a transducer splitter to share the depth. Mapping isn’t able to be shared at all.
