HB AUTOCHART QUESTIONS

    Hey there,

I have a question on the possible set up on autochart (not AC live) before I load the data from my zero lines card.

Here in eastern SD, as many know, the lakes have flooded in recent years. The borders of the lakes show on the map on the card/software, but all the lakes are actually past the border. So when I load the data, it really condenses it together.

Wondering where/if/how I can change that? Appreciate the help!

This is Antelope Lake just South of Webster. I started recording at the landing and went down to the South end of the lake.

I don’t know what I did different than you, but it seems to have mapped out past the “zero line” on the what was dry land with out leaving a gap like it did for you. I only did one pass on the lake.

I loaded the data, created map, and then put the zero line card in and did the lake master update.

This is what the menu looks like when I right click on the map.

Clint, sorry I didn’t see this question until now. Maybe you’ve got it figured out already. If not, I am able to help. I’ve been the one answering most all the questions about Autochart on that BBC forum.
Anyways, in Autochart there’s a setting you can select for shoreline boundaries. You can select the ‘Lakemaster Data’ shoreline, or the ‘User Defined’ shoreline. From your picture, it looks like you’ve got the Lakemaster Data shoreline selected.
You can get on Google Earth, draw your custom shoreline, and import that into AutoChart. Define it as a shoreline. And tell AutoChart to use ‘User Defined’ shorelines and you should be good to go for that map.

In fact, I created a step-by-step tutorial file about a year ago. It’ll walk you right through the process.
