Saturday guided all day on LCO for walleye, got one 22 inch walleye at about 9 am and was pretty slow throughout the day with only some small perch caught jigging. Client did loose about a 45-48 inch musky in the hole on a walleye sucker, he got a great fight out of the fish but no pics. We were fishing a deeper hump topping out at 16 feet of water most of our action was in 21-24 feet of water though.

Sunday was back out on LCO jigging for gills, after some extensive scouting the only place I found fishable numbers of fish was in Musky bay, it was really cold -15 when we got out, there was a number of gills in the weeds, and we caught a bunch but only about 8 were keepers. it was still fun tough, we watched all the fish on our Marcum camera and our hot bait were gill pills with Gulp fish fry.

Going back out today for some pike, will post how we do.

    Good Luck,
    Tanner Wildes

We limited on gills in the Spooner vacinity Sat. Much of it sight fishing in shallow water which is nice to avoid some of the small ones. I have two lakes up there that put out everytime. Time to start scouting out some new scenery.

I’ve heard it’s been a good year for gil fisherman all over up there this year.
