Hey everyone. I am going up to Hayward next week for the first time ever to fish. I will be staying at Trails End Campground which is right between Grindstone and Lac Courte. I want to get into some crappies and maybe some walleyes. Any help you could give a new guy would be greatly apppreciated. Thanks!!!

Awesome lake! It has been a few years since I have been up there. We found huge crappies in Chicago Bay. We also found great walleye and small mouth fishing off of the rock piles that are scattered around that lake. The one that I like the best is Frenchmans Bar. When fishing walleye you will need to fish 20+ feet if the sun is out since this is a very clear lake. With that being said your early mornings and late evenings will be best for walleye and they can be found shallow on the rocks during low light periods. Good luck and let us know how you do.
