Saturday Jess and I got out for a few hours, trolled LCO in the morning for about an hour and a half with nothing but a lost bait to show for our efforts. In the evening went out to the chip, fished for crappie first, and got a few smaller males, they were staging just outside of the spawning bays. We got them on AA Jigs on a bobber. We walleye fished in the evening and found the walleye in green weeds close to gravel flats in 8 feet of water. We caught them on Weedmaster Jigs and minnows.

Today, Guided out on the chip. It was pretty windy most of the day, it was pretty slow fishing, got a couple of pike, walleye, and a few Largemouth Bass fishing in green weeds with Weedmaster jigs and minnows. We lost a number of fish, today too, most of them we fought the fish pretty close to the boat and lost them, just one of those days. We did try slip bobbers too, and had fish on them too, but lost them. We fished mostly green weeds, but also tried sunken bogs, and river channels, our best luck was in green weeds in 8-12 feet of water. Just one of those days, that the fish just came off, but it was a fun day in the boat with my client Dave.

    Good Luck,

    Thanks for the updates Tanner.

21 days and a wake up my brother and I will be up on the Chip for 10 days, chasing crappies. Hopefully the day temps keep coming up, I would expect the water is pretty cool yet.

Good stuff, Tanner!!! Its been a decent four days over here to the east of ya as well.

TomP., water temps in our flowages have snuck up into the lower 50’s already on Sunday… Typically the Hayward area warms just a little faster than we do…
