Hayward area

    Planning a trip to LCO in the Hayward area this January. Any tips on locations for panfish? Staying at a buddies new place and the kids want to get out and give it a try. Thanks for the help.

    Hope its late January. The ice is trashed in the area right now.

    X2 Some of the smaller lakes have a little bit of ice. But it’s not all safe.

    Used to live in Hayward. I didn’t fish it often but most of the panfishing in LCO in the winter seems to take place in Musky Bay.

    Just read a report that musky bay only had 4 or 5 inches of ice last weekend and plenty of snow on top.

    In most of the northern ice ranges of WI the ice is dicey this year. Well over a foot of snow fell on lakes that had just a couple inches of ice on them. Bad combination.
