A couple years ago, went to launch on a east metro lake, just as I was getting my boat off the trailer, another boat comes hauling a$$ into the launch. I asked if they caught a monster, guy in the back of the boat jumps out and goes running to the parking lot and very quickly gets his trailer in the water and the boat on it. When he pulls the boat out, I see why he was in such a hurry, turns out they lost the plug in their boat, YIKES. I apologized if I was in his way, if I had known I would have cleared out. So I put my boat on the shore, went to park my truck, came back to the boat, looked at it and turned and looked at the boys from the other boat and said “Really”?, they played it off like they didn’t know what happened, Bull crap. I had a life vest over the passenger seat, and low and behold, the life vest was gone, and the seat was up. I just got out of the boat 20 seconds ago and it was there when I left it to go park. A$$holes

They stole your life vest? I would have got their boat and license plate, or parked them in and called the cops.

    They sound like morons.

That’s weird they would be thieving during an emergency. If I was sure they took it I wouldn’t have let it go. They would have at least paid for it with a truck tire……

Just asking for a friend – Do you know how bad it is when someone removes all the valve stems on all the tires at a landing – Or removes the spring in the wench so the clicker doesn’t work. like I said – Just asking for a friend jester

I have a snap on travel cover. I’ve had a thief slice it with a razor knife to look in my boat when they could have just unsnapped it.

I was on Mille Lacs this winter. Buddie and I got off at the same time and his new truck wouldn’t start. WTF. Turns out some a hole drilled in his gas tank and stole his gas. He not only had to get towed but a pretty penny for a new gas tank.

We were the only ones at the launch, late fall. Two guys, and both of them brought boats. I’ve heard of backup rods, but never saw somebody with a backup boat.
