Have walleyes spawned and do white bass affect where the walleyes spawn?

I am wondering if anyone has caught any spawned out female walleyes/saugers yet? I was catching and releasing some pretty nice fish. Now it is all white bass/red horse/sheephead with the occasional small walleye or sauger, nothing to keep in other words. The surface temp is around 51 to 52 degrees. With the water as low as it is, is it fair to say these fish could have dumped that fast and are now gone?

From the reports we’ve been getting at the resort we might be just over half way though the spawn.

Depending on where you’re fishing, a person might catch all spawned out females or all pre spawn.

Of course this is only from my point of view…and I don’t fish walleyes if I can help it. )

Lots of post spawn fish being caught in my area. Have been getting them for well over a week.

Brian, that has to be the best walleye advise you have ever given. Are you finally comin g around? RRR finally being a good influence on you?

Brian stated it perfectly. If your fishing spawning habitat, you’ll catch prespawn to spawning fish. If you’re fishing down-run habitat (channels), you should be getting spawned out fish. I’ve been fishing both structures and were getting every stage of the spawn. Even getting a few whities in the mix

Thanks guys…. I was thinking some were spawn out but was not really sure. White bass was the biggest concern but it appears they just mix together. Will try again tomorrow AM and see what happens. With these temperatures the spawn will be over by the weekend I would assume.

All the fish didn’t get the memo that they should have dropped their eggs. I’m guessing some will still be at it in 2-3 weeks. It’s highly unlikely the white bass have an impact on where the walleyes spawn. It’s more likely the walleyes used the area first, dropped eggs and left. The white bass may use the same area when it’s their turn or they are just there eating since all fish are canibals and have food on their minds more than the fattest Americans.

In WI the spawn seems to be wrapping up. Due to odd water levels it was a hard year in mid and south parts of the state. Just keep in mind post spawn can be just as good. They feed for weeks you just have to find them. Happy hunting.
