Hard Shack TV antenna suggestions?

    Hey guys,
So I pulled the trigger on a “new to me” 2016 Ice Castle Scout shack.
Now I want to get a TV and INDOOR antenna for it to make it inexpensive, and not have to drill any holes coming from an Outdoor antenna.
I see these “Paper thin” antennas for indoor installation for around $20-$60 that have various ranges in miles. Are these $20 any good? I don’t have an interest in getting fancy or expensive with a monthly plan or anything like that. To be able to pick up some local channels and plug in my DVD to watch movies is good enough.

What can you guys recommend and what to stay away from, be aware of, etc.?
    Thx

I assume your Ice castle doesn’t have any antenna at all? I guess I wasn’t aware they did that on the newer houses. I have the standard antenna they usually come with on my 2016 Ice castle and I get great reception. I think last time I scanned I picked up 66 channels in Alexandria.

Sorry I don’t have any info for you on a retro fit antenna. I personally would install the one Ice Castle uses. Only because I’ve had such great luck with it. Good luck and enjoy the new house!

A roof mount like they use on the Ice castles might not work anyway for you unless the roof is framed for it. Haven’t tried any of the thin window mounts. Winquard made a side mount round tube style but not amplified and couldn’t get hardly anything. Whatever you decide I would make sure it was amplified

    Ken,
No expert here but I have a Scout as well and it has a Happy Jack brand with a LED signal indicator that assists you to point in the right direction. It works awesome !

I have a extra one that I have promised to a friend, but if he doesn’t show up soon, I will let you know.

I’m still open to all other suggestions from you guys.
Haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet.
