Hard Box That holds 3700 & 3600 Tackle boxes

I can’t find a hard sided box that would hold maybe 8-10 3600/3700 Plano type tackle boxes “just right”. Anyone have a solution?
I have this box but don’t want to spend the $$ on another.

It will be hard to find something in a hard shell if you don’t want to spend the money. I have been using a $10 soft shell duffle bag for years without a problem. The Plano 3700 will protect everything that matters and the shoulder strap is nice. Other than that you can look in the classifieds or Craiglist and see what you can find.

    Check Amish outfitters.
Not hard side but well made canvas/cordura bags.

Not sure how “just right” you need, but what about a plastic Rubbermaid type tub?

This is what I have done. It’s not fun to carry around, but for something to keep in the boat, it does the trick. I put a bungee over the top to keep the lid from coming off at speed.

All the tubs I’ve checked out are either a bit too short or not wide enough, at least the Planos I’ve seen. I want something that is pretty rigid if possible. If I cant find one that latches and is pretty well made I’ll probably have to get a soft bag.

The fit isn’t perfect and it is not “cheap” but I like the DeWalt Tough Systems box.
I think ill compare the size to Milwaukee, Husky, and Stanley equivalents to see if I can get the fit a bit better.

What size boxes are those in the Dewalt box? Which model box is it? That’s kind of like what I was thinking.

The tackle boxes are 3600 and the dewalt box is the XL. They fit in the dewalt box that is a size smaller but not as many boxes, cant remember the count. I can look tonight if that would help.

That is a slick idea on the DeWalt Tough System. One could get some wheels on their box. I don’t know about you but my musky bag is pushing 75lb. It sucks to go far if I don’t bring my sons red rider wagon with.
For my other tackle I have a bunch of the Bass pro neoprene utility box carriers and they work well. I see the ones they now offer are not as big.

Got to be some cheap coolers out there that would fit the bill.

    Here’s mine.

2 Sterilite brand totes. The clear one is probably 15+ years old and the 3700’s fit perfect in it. Had two of them but one got smashed. The green one is the newer “improved” model I picked up. Looked similar but the bottom is just a bit narrower so the boxes don’t fit as neatly.

Drill a dozen or more holes in the bottom so whatever water gets in can run out.

If anyone is interested, I settled on this Sterlite box. I can get 13 3700’s in the box plus 2 more laid on top for a total of 15. Not the sturdiest of boxes, but not wimpy either. Metal latches at least. 21$ at Walmart.

Nice thing about the box you picked out is it looks like you could add a lock to it when you are camping.
