I went out ice fishing on my local lake here in Iowa on Thursday but as I was loading all my stuff back into my Traverse I forgot to load up my ice auger. I lean it against the side while I load the flip over in and I forgot and left it on the side. I did not notice it until the next day when I was again preparing to go fishing. I drove back out to the lake and talked to all the guys there and told them what I had done. My daughter posted it on Facebook and yesterday afternoon I got a call that someone had my auger. I drove to pick it up and offered a reward. It just so happens it was a former student of mine, so he gave me lots of grief about old age syndrome and did not take any money. This just shows that there are some good folks out there in the world.

I know this feeling. Two years ago I left my turkey shotgun on the tail gate after a morning hunt and drove away. An off duty EMT turned it in to the local sheriff dept and within 2 hours I had it back.

Glad it turned out well Rick. waytogo

That is awesome Rick! Glad it worked out and you deserved to get some grief I’m sure you gave those students enough over the years LOL

Rick Janssen. This goes to show you that you and his parents did something right.

I know the feeling – recently I went into the kitchen to get a beer, and got all flustered and grabbed a brandy instead. Very upsetting. A real kick in the pants.
