I tried to put a load in my dishwasher nightly but usually ended up hand washing.

You picked the wrong washer then.

Lets pick on a bigger issue – TVs wall mounted above electric fireplaces make me want to vomit. Looking for a new house and cant stand those.

I am also in the pots, pans, and knives are hand wash while everything else goes into the dishwasher. I hand washed everything before I got a Bosch dishwasher. My wife or I fill the dishwasher and my son empties it.

Now that’s a real topic!!! I have a bunch of friends who have their televisions mounted above the fireplace and one almost needs a recliner to watch it. It looks like a convenient place for one, especially now that they have 65 to 95 inch screens, where the heck do you put them? I know there was a 46″ in my lake home and I replaced it with a 55 inch, barely fit but at viewing height. Any larger and it would have had to be mounted higher on the wall. As far as dishes, seems like I have to do everything by hand these days!

Been in our house going on 18 years, did the dishes by hand every day for 16 years until we renovated. I freaking love my dishwasher. My wife is great too, but the dishwasher was life changing.

I do both at my house. Pots, pans, and knives by hand. Everything else goes in the DW.

    Same.

I run mine about twice a week. Its energy star rated too so it uses very little electricity and water to do a normal cycle.

Saves time and saves water. Win win

you guys seriously running your dishwasher for multiple hours? might be time for an upgrade. I installed a new bosch a couple years ago and it has a 30 min express wash that more than gets the job done. Otherwise if dishes are really dirty I’ll run the 60 min cycle and I’ve never had a dish not come out of that clean. On top of that, you can’t even hear the thing running. I never realized how quiet mine was until I went to other peoples houses and heard theirs and it sounded like a fricken lawnmower. Plus the bosch uses less water than hand washing and thats important to me being on well/setpic.

I’ll also add I hand wash pots pans, chef knives, wood cutting boards, etc. Like others said, just because its “dishwasher safe” doesn’t mean you’re not slowing wrecking it by washing it in the dishwasher.

My dishwashing methods are different than my wife’s, though. She doesn’t go in a specific order and I can’t stand that she’ll wash a glass in the same gross dishwater that she just scrubbed a couple of greasy pans or a cutting board we cut raw meat on a few dishes earlier. I was always taught to go in this order – Glasses, Silverware, Plates, Containers, Cutting Boards, Pots/Pans.

Other than good knives – if it touches raw meat, I put in the dishwasher for disinfecting.

I am in need of a new dishwasher but I am waiting for the ones that Trump promised. The ones that take twice as much water but the cycle time is cut in half. I am sure he promised me this for day one. yay

lol I used to have one about 10 years old that was kinda loud that came with the house.

I bought a new whirlpool in 2022 that is much quieter.

Sounds like you guys buy cheap appliances. Go get a Bosch and you won’t hand wash anything again.

    What he said ^^^^^
