We had a good year deer hunting on our place this year. Four hunters bagged their first deer and several bucks were taken. We still have a lot of deer running around.

Nothing like a first deer. I’d like to hear the story of the one in your profile pic.

It’s funny you should ask about the profile deer. A couple of years ago The Boss Lady had this deer show up on the camera in front of her deer stand. So she decided that it was HER deer and she was going to shoot it that year.
Well opening day of the early muzzle loading season found her in her stand bright and early Saturday morning. she hunted that morning and evening but saw nothing of HER deer, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all were the same, plenty of smaller deer but no sight of HER deer.
She had to leave on Wednesday and take her father to a doctors appointment so I told her I planned on hunting her stand that day but not to worry I PROBABLY would not shoot HER deer if it shows up.
Low and behold around 9;AM her deer stepped into the field, broadside at 50 yards and just stood there daring me to take the shot.
It only took about 3 months for her to forgive me. Was it worth it?
    HELL YES.
Actually she was a good sport about it and said she was glad I got it but I could no longer hunt her stands.
I am very blessed to have a woman that loves spending time in a deer stand and in the bass boat with me. I have been retired for 10 years and we spend our days hunting and fishing and enjoying our 160 acre of timber. Lately we have been helping youngsters get into the outdoor fun of hunting and fishing. That is as much fun as doing it yourself.
And that is the story of my dastardly deed and HER deer.
