I am running out of time. The fishing opener is right around the corner so I have to get the seed in the ground. It will be touch and go on the temp for beans this weekend, but it’s this weekend or the first week in June. Soil temp was mid to high 40’s last time to the farm. I was hoping for a little more heat this week I will make my decision on the beans by Sunday and either get them in(depending on temp) or wait until early June. The corn is going in this weekend. The plots are all ready, just waiting on Ma nature to cooperate, but I am out of time. 7 acres total going in. 5 acres of beans and 2 acres of corn. The brassica will go in mid July when I am up doing my second does of gly.

Is there any chance of putting stuff in the ground with it being this wet?

It’s so flippin’ wet in northern MN that we’re not even going to drive in to my property because I don’t want the roads tore up. We walked in last weekend to inspect things and mark the location for some new gates, but operating any equipment is a “no”. In the past 3 weeks, they had 21 inches of snow and over 10 inches of rain.

I can just tell that if I go in there, we’re going to leave ruts that will be there forever. And that doesn’t take into account some of my trails have “puddles” across them. Puddles that are almost 3 feet deep.

Give us a report as to what you can do.

Where is the property you have thats dry enough to plant? I was thinking of trying hydro seeding corn this year. ..just toss the seed into the standing water in the fields.

That’s what I was thinking too. You’d have to be on a slope like Mt. Everest in order NOT to have standing water right now.

We are near Fergus falls, we got very little snow this winter, we are on higher ground that I was able to work up over two weeks ago.

I got all the seed planted with no issue. Everything is in the ground, cultipacked and ready for some warm weather to get it germinated. The farmer that rents 60 of our acres also ripped up and planted that ground.

Let me add, my plots at home (Metro area) I have barely touched due to them being soo wet, so I do understand what you guys are saying.
