I have about 4 acres of existing clover that I want to hit with fertilizer this spring. Anyone have a suggestion on what fert to apply and how much per acre?

Thats a good blend, my elevater has 9-23-30 just make sure you keep the 1st # low for all Lugumes like clover Keeping the nitrogen level low will also aid in weed control by not feeding the grass.

Depending on the amount you need, you could ask about a custom blend if you have a feed store / elevator who can do it. With a legume, I’m not seeing the benefit of paying for any nitrogen and at today’s prices especially.

Is there ANY benefit to putting nitrogen on a legume? If you could get a 0-26-26 blend, would that be the way to go?

No benefit to nitrogen in spring and summer… But come fall hit the area of clover in front of the stand with Urea and the deer will flock to that area.

thanks for the info, I am actually getting all my fert at an elevator and they always customize it for me.

Wow 200-300lbs per acre? That’s a half a ton for 4 acres. That is 2-3 times what I put on corn.

You should have your soil sample results and adjust accordingly.

When you put the plot in you adjusted your ph and fertilized.
2 years down The road your clover plot is still doing good but has used the fertilizer you put down when you established the plot. Think of it as putting in a new plot. Atleast thats the way I look at it. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
