the 1st pic is turnips, rape, carrots and Radishes, this is what a plot should not look like! planted way to thick the 2nd pic is what a proper seeding rate of brassicas should look like 3rd pic is in the center of a corn/bean field.

Looks good Bob, I always struggle with seeding brassica’s, it feels like your not getting enough seed down but they do much better with some space.

Its thick but looks great, spoon feed it some Nitro and lay down some slow release triple 17 and it will rock out!

What do you use to spread the seed?

They look great!! I did that too heavy on the seed one year. Looked great for the first 2 weeks then choked itself out pretty good

Man have we been fortunate for the fall plots. I planted mine a week ago last sunday and today is the 4th nice rain we have gotten!

Feel sorry for everyone in drought areas this year, seems like our area has been getting just enough minus one tough stretch for about 3 weeks.

I have a special atv seeder made for small seeds I can go as low as 1# per acre. the problem was I grabbed the wrong seed bag that was weighed up for a larger field

Good looking plot Bob! Small brassica seeds always mess me up. Half way through seeding mine 2 weeks ago I was already running out and had to give the wife a wake up call to make a seed run. After my last card pull I’m glad I over seeded after having a half dozen pics of sandhill cranes feasting on the new growth.
