It is a scam. basically, here is how the scam works: they send you a money order or cashiers check for over the amount of the purchase. The form of payment is bogus… It can sometimes take your bank months to figure out… though they will put the money in your account. You send the “buyer” the overage money amount because you think it all went fine since the funds are available… when your bank finds out it is fraudulant, they deduct that check amount from your account… again, can be months later. If they DO send someone to pick up the item, you are out both what you are selling, and the money you sent them.

I like getting these. Makes the 8 hours of work go by faster by replying to them.

It’s a scam Joe! I had the same email when I sold my boat and truck.

You can also notice it’s a scam instantly because they always refer to it as an “item” never once saying motor or anything.

Had the same thing today on a pair of props that I have in the classifieds. Amazing what people will do with too much time on their hands…

Don’t you wonder how many people fall for that though

I think it would be funny to start communicating with these people and drag them along, maybe it could turn into a good post going back and forth with them????

There is a website devoted to people who do just that, 401 scammers or something. I have seen posts of pics the scammers took of themselves doing some pretty interesting things as condistions of getting the money they want. Pretty funny the things these people will do to get your cash.

I have been known to string along scammers from time to time, thing is, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION! Phone numbers, address, etc.

My thinking is, the longer I string one out, the less time the scammers have to work on someone that could fall for it.

Yup, I like to string those losers along as long as they’ll take it. I screw with em big time. Kinda fun!

Anybody have any experience using a pull behind tiller? DR has a nice looking one. Thinking they would be nice for getting back in where you couldn’t get a tractor.

My concern with a pull behind would be the lack of down pressure. Depending if the ground had been worked before I can see it being a nice tool for tight quarters.

You would be surprised where a small 4 X 4 tractor can get. I have been a few places I shouldn’t have already with mine. I would also have my doubts with a pull behind tiller.

Hard ground could be a problem I would think.
