4 row planter for sale

Rochester Craigslist has a John Deer 1240 plateless 4 row planter for sale for $600obo if someone is looking for a good deal. Said to be in good working condition, but one would have to check. I have heard good things about those planters in the past for a simple cheap row planter. No tractor here so it doesnt help me much.

the 1240 can be a great planter as it is plateless and will plant seeds of all sizes without changing plates. one thing to watch for would be to make sure that the fingers that grab the seed are in good working order. I bought one and ended scrapping it as the parts to repair it were more expensive than the planter was worth.
