Well those of you that frequent IDO and fished the FLW Leugue.
Are going to go down there?
How many from each state do they take? Top 20?

The top 30 boaters and top 30 co-anglers from each FLW Walleye League division at the end of the season advance to the $133,400 Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Finals set for Sept. 11-13 on the Mississippi River in Winona, Minn. The boater and co-angler point’s champions from each division also advance to the $650,000 no-entry-fee Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour Championship in Bismarck, N.D., Sept. 24-27 for a chance to compete for as much as $150,000 in the Pro Division and $20,000 in the Co-angler Division. Anglers finishing the season in the top 10 in each division also receive priority entry into the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour for 2009
I am going. I want to see if I have any luck left. They will probably be dipping into the 50’s for boaters as I am sure a bunch from Michigan and Illinois may not come up this far to participate. I don’t know this for sure, but with gas prices as they are…it may impact who comes.

FROM THE GUYS I HAVE TALKED TO, IT WOULDN’T SUPRISE ME TO SEE @ LEAST 20 OF THE 30 BOATERS COME FOR THE FINALS. NOT SURE ABOUT THE NON-BOATERS, THOUGH.
Does anyone have a place to stay down there? I booked a room just incase, but would rather split costs and stay with some other people. Let me know
I will see you all there, look for me in the crestliner with the star on the side of the boat. good luck to you all, and good luck to our local heros as well.

I guess if I was in the Top 50 w/in a reasonable drive of Winona I would have did some prefishing. Every year boaters back out at the tail end. I prefished and wasn’t anywhere near the Top 50 but was less than a couple hour drive. They were calling for boaters up until 3 PM yesterday.
Well when you have to work and have kids to take care of a little more of a heads up would be nice, next year I will just have to finish in the top 30 and be done with it
I will have to plant a bigger plot of corn. The 1/3 acre of corn I planted this year is almost half eaten! Wasn’t sure if it was bear or deer so I put out a camera and confirmed that the deer have been hammering the corn since mid August. Is this unusual? I thought they started to hit the corn once the soybeans die.
You have too many Deer They usually do eat the corn later in the year. Where legal I use feeders to help keep them out of the fields until the season opens.
I’m seeing allot of fields around here that have a couple strips cut already. Anyone know whats with that? I was thinking silage but the fields I’m seeing this in is only one strip.
This is not unusual, at least not for my area. A little more than 80% of the total acreage in my county is row crop corn and soybeans. I normally start seeing videos on my camera of deer eating corn about as early as the plants start kicking out ears. Its normally lighter browsing, with the heavy pressure on soybeans. However, Ive had deer nail out an entire small plot of corn even in july (they were eating the tops off each stalk). Even with all of the corn production in my area, I have never had good luck growing small plots of corn. I guarantee it can be done with the 1/3 acre you have, you may just have to use a temporary ribbon fence of deterant spray when the browsing picks up.
The worst early season corn browsing I have ever seen was on one of my plots last year. This corn was in the midst of a 4+ acre mixed plot with another 8 acres of plots mixed in within a half mile.
