i’ve been using paypal for about 10 years, and try to use it for most of my online purchases, and will not purchase anything on ebay if they won’t accept paypal. I’ve had zero issues with it. in fact, they even stepped up to bat for me on an ebay purchase that i was getting screwed on.
The paypal charge was correct and was the only charge we’ve made in the past several days. I’m not saying it is Paypal – I think it is just coincidence. The charge was 2AM for a small amount. The bank said that credit card thieves will often try a vary small transaction to test the card to see if it’s good. What a pain in the a$$!
If you used a debit card they usually send you a small deposit or two that you accept to verify the correct account routing. Not sure if that applies to an account setup using credit card.

Put in an ad for my boat yesterday. Used Paypal to pay for the ad. Bank called this AM and said that at 2AM a strange charge was made against the card. Coincidence? Anybody else have this sort of problem after registering to use Paypal?
Steve, There should be absolutely no issue with registering with paypal. I would recommend that anyone using paypal to buy or sell goods should take the time to read the Paypal Safety Tips.
I have made thousands of transactions via paypal over the years and I have been pleased with the service. Some issues they had in the early years appear to have been resolved.
The one thing to look out for (as with any credit card or your financial information) is criminals trying to steal your information. You may get emails asking for your paypal information. Don’t give it out, ever. Paypal will never ask you for your information in an email. Read through the paypal tips and do as they say.
I have never had any problems with pay pal and i sell all kinds of stuff online!!! Good to know that they at least called!!! Something to keep in mind
I think it’s coincidence too. Someone could have had my info for a long time. It was my bank that called, not Paypal.
oh ok!!! I know sometime with ebay they can get into your pay pal account also
This warm up got me thinking about spring planting. I know it’s way to early to start but I had to stop at one of the big sport shops on the way home from the cabin. Wow they are fully stocked and ready to go The problem is that when I looked at the germination test date they were all from last spring while I don’t mind hard seed like clover and brassicas being a year old, I have had issues with poor germination and weak plants with oats, peas etc. being more than a year old. Just wanted to give a heads up when buying your seed. Like i said most of the time I have had no problems with 1 year old seed ,but I have purchased large quantities of clover and brassicas in the past and ended up not using it for 2-3 years the results were poor at best.
This got me thinking Bob. Last year when I purchased my brassica mix I noticed that the testing info sticker was doubled up on the bag. It got me thinking that it was maybe left overs and a new sticker applied over the old one. Last night I was going to pick up some highly discounted seed at Wall world and noticed an empty shelf which was FULL just a couple weeks ago. I’m thinking they’re probably in the process of slapping new stickers on the bags??? Who knows and my seed did just fine. I’m sure those bags will be back soon and at full price.
