My half acre plot at home is looking pretty darn good. I planted some discounted seed from the local WTF chapter. They are a long season (3-0) bean so we’ll see what kind of pod production I get out of them. I ran the camera on this plot for nearly two weeks and the only deer I picked up was the same doe and her two fawns…due to that they are staying ahead of the browsing.

Here’s the same plot a little over 3 weeks ago. I planted these beans really late as my dad and I had some issues with our tillage equipment At the time of these pics I was pretty sure that they were doomed, amazing year for growing conditions really helped things along. The second photo shows an exclusion cage that I put on this plot. There is currently about a 4-6″ difference from browsed vs. unbrowsed. The last photo shows how this plot sits in relation to my deck, it’s the thin little field which sits just right of center in the photo….nice place to kick back and tip a few cold ones waiting for the deer to show

Thanks gut! No kidding on the year we are having, it’s looking like the rain every 3-4 days may continue for awhile too! Pretty amazing for July and start of August.

Awesome view. My eyes would be wacked from glassing all the time.

I walked through a bean field yesterday to get a camera and the beans were almost chest high!! I am about 6’1″, never seen beans that tall before. Good year for deer and farmers.
