Does anyone know a good Smith in the North Metro. My uncle gave me his .22 he got when he was a kid. It’s in mint condition except it keeps jamming and the action is slow.

I can google search but I had a bad experience taking my shotgun to a random person years back so I’d prefer a referral if possible.

    Thanks

Village pine gunsmith right in hugo, I’ve never been but a buddy uses them. That’s pretty close to you.

I’m sorry to say it, but be very careful. There are a lot of people hanging out shingles and calling themselves gunsmiths, but their only experience is screwing together pre fab parts for AR and 1911 “builds” and mods. That ain’t gunsmithing.

Personally I would drive to Ahlmans for that type of service.

    That’s what I’m afraid of. I don’t want a hack.

Not North Metro, probably 45 minutes from Forest Lake, but it’s the only recommendation I have: https://craigsgunshop.com/ Been around for a long time, all good reviews, and were good to me. Might be worth the drive if you are worried about it.

I’ve been to Craigs and know others who have used him. He’s legit.

I also had some work done by Matt’s Firearms in Chisago City. Brand new AR would only fire one round then it was done. Something was not in tolerance and he got it squared away.

    X2!

Something like that wouldn’t want a hack touching it.

Ahlman’s is a weird place but they do good work. Last thing they did for me was on an o/u that had a firing pin brake. They’ve worked on the gun before and opened the chokes, turned the stock English and re-did the finish on the stock and forearm. Thrilled with everything They’ve done to the gun.
