Message your officials if you do not want these ridiculous laws put in place.
Here come the dems. Neither one is enforceable but still a step in the wrong direction.
There is also a universal background check proposal and a red flag law on top of this. I would not be surprised to see a “High Capacity” Magazine ban in the next month or so. I think most folks know the universal background check is just the first step towards a registry.
This is confusing to me. Part 1, if I am reading this correctly, states that the firearm cannot be stored with the ammunition? So they’re saying that keeping ammo in a safe with the firearms is illegal under this bill?

Correct. If its not on your person or “under owners control” whatever that means.

Well if it’s locked in my safe under key, then it’s in my control, is it not?
“under owners control” LMAO!
Had to be an attorney that drafted that statement.
Almost as good as “it depends on what the definition of is, is”
Clowns running this country.
You knew this was coming. Every social agenda topic on the list …
I figure gun control issues just may NOT make it through because some of the Dems in the narrow majority are rural. We will see.

Lawmakers
They must have a search warrant for every house in Minnesota. Liberals doing liberal things. So foolish.
Typical, spending all this time and energy rewriting a law already on the books just to put their names on it.
If ya aint planned on leaving this state yet…. well your damn near as (fill in the blank here) as a Californian. I fully expect a bill that taxes you even if you leave the state.

Funny!
I’ve never thought about leaving until this year. Looking at the tax rate(s) and I’m thinking wtf.
MN state tax – 9.85% #6 and is higher than all non-coastal states.
MN corporate tax – 9.8% #2
Overall #5 on the highest tax state.
I’m losing alotta pull tab money to Mn.
Id personally like to thank them. Stings to work hard and get pinched harder.
They employ a lot of people.
I wish I could complain about the 9.85% bracket
Yeah, when you make a dollar and someone takes $0.49 of it, you’d complain.

From what I understand 20K people left Minnesota last year. I tried to find a list of states ranked by budget surplus but couldn’t come up with one. Would like to see where Minnesota’s $17+B budget surplus came in compared to other states.

I would consider that secured. They cant force people to buy safes and those can be broken into just like a home. All this law does is give them another tool to vilify gun owners, especially WHEN THEY ARE ROBBED. Screw those cowardly clowns. THEY dont want anybody defending themselves, their community or their freedoms.
Texas and Florida have been getting a tremendous influx of new residents from states like MN. This is the first time in my life that I would consider moving. If my wife being a teacher wouldnt get totally screwed salary wise in the move we likely would be seriously looking. I can work anywhere and come out fine or probably better off.

The bad news for Texas is a lot of those influx people are coming from Calf. That should be interesting. Gun toting redneck Conservatives mixing in with Bleeding heart Liberals. I just hope those Calf. transplants don’t water down and turn that state like they have a few others

100%. The majority of them are moving to Austin. Austin is a beautiful area, but a hard pass to move there due to the tremendous amount of despicable woke leftists.
These are some ridiculous proposed laws they’re trying to push in… but I’ll go right out and say that I love living in Minnesota. I consider myself pretty lucky to live here and have access to all of the outdoor opportunities we have.
A wise man once said.. “why do people move away from shetholes and then try to turn where they moved to, into one ?”

I agree with this. I highly doubt the people in this thread that are threatening to leave are serious about doing it too. Just picking up your entire life on a whim and moving across the country isn’t exactly easy to do to. I just moved 6 miles last May and hated every minute of the process.
