Hello, anyone ever tried the little Gulp Minnows when fishing through the ice?

I use them all the time along with the red or pink spikes. I tend to have better luck with them in the summer (that is all I use now) but still there are days in the winter when they outperform my waxies. I really like the fact that you can catch multiple fish off of one as compared to live bait. My favorite are the emerald shiners.

how do you fish them? on a dead stick on a hook? jigging it on a spoon? rip head off and put on a spoon or whole minnow?

with bait shortages in recent years id like to be able to use these more as an option if need be

I think i have caught 1 sheephead in 25 plus years of half hearted attempts with gulp.

I think it is more important where you use them instead of how? The fish on the sippi don’t like them!

I just bought a pack of the minnows to try this winter. They look like they would work good. Mine are the Gulp minnow smelt, 1 inch. We shall see!

Yeah, I’ve used them alot in the Summer, it’s really all I used for Crappie and all Panfish..caught just about everything on them. I was just wondering if they worked for ice fishing. This fall I did real well wacky rigging them on tiny jigheads.
