    Hey everyone,

Headed to Gull lake this weekend. I have never been on that body. I am assuming with it being so clear walleyes will be a low light bite. I was thinking of just pulling spinners as a starting point then maybe pulling cranks.
If anyone has been up there lately any advice is greatly appreciated.
Any daytime advice for other species as well to pass the time during the day. Going to be strictly catch and release all weekend for me as the amount of time being able to fish is limited since we are staying at maddens for a work retreat. Thank you for any and all advice.

I fished it a lot last summer and summer before. Always had success on the deep weedlines during the day 25’ fow+. Crawlers seem to get picked apart by smaller perch and sunfish. #7 or 9 jigging raps were my go to all summer long. With the steep breaks 10 feet off the weed line can be too deep, down imaging was very helpful to stay right on the weed edge. Most of my big fish came during the day. I only fished the north half.

Sorry, same as Craig I’m mostly on the north half. Only difference between us, I like leeches and haven’t tried the jigging rap thing yet(new to me)

Being clear does impact but doesn’t always mean a low light bite. You’re on the right track with higher speed presentations looking for a reaction strike.

What might be harder during the day is recreational traffic. Last Saturday took the parents for a long boat ride down to the Madden’s area. On a hot July day it’s pretty busy although some of it looked just fine to me whistling

Water temps are 80 and it’s not just at the surface.

    Likewise Craig.

Heck I haven’t even fished with myself yet this season frown Had some issues that kept me off the water in May and June. Back on the water now but concentrating on water sports in the heat of summer.

Fish deep should be able to find them during the day also.

Call S&W Bait and Tackle. My buddy guides through them and they always give the people in store the best advice on what’s been working. Depths and methods. Best of luck and I will say bring jiggin raps. My buddy has been beating them up with those, around the 20ft mid afternoon. If you’re going to fish past dark, go shallow running cranks and pull in 4-7 fow

Hey guys, if you’re going up here, give us a hint! I saw the IDO truck just pass us on 10 headed north.
