I just got home from a 13 hour shift, wife is working nights and never took any meat for tonight. So the kid and I are gonna whip up some grilled cheese. Nothing fancy just toss some ham on it and make some mac and cheese.

What di you guys do to make a good grilled cheese sandwich

I love a good grilled cheese sandwich along with a bowl of tomato soup.
if I am not short on time I will add some chopped bacon, mushrooms, and sauted onion.
I grill my sandwich a little different than most in that instead of butter I use miracle whip on the bread,it leaves the bread crispy instead of soggy and it gives it a bit of zip in flavor.

Velveeta and Pepper Jack here. We also add bacon and avocado. That’s a deadly sandwich with some homemade creamy tomato soup.

I used 1 piece Colby jack and 1 piece pepperjack with ham in between. Then a real good shake of Tabasco and I doubled its usage as a spoon for my mac and cheese. The kid wanted salami on his and regular sandwich cheese.

It’s always a good easy go to dinner when mamas not home and we dont have meat thawed out.

Tomato soup is a gotta have with grilled cheese for me. Use a variety of cheeses. Just depends what I’m in the mood for. I always use mayo, instead of butter/margrine. Tastes so much better.

I think that you individually are wrong.

I believe that all of you are correct!

There is no bad way to make the “Moms lunch when I was a child” grilled cheese and soup.

The only way to improve most of these lunches is to have TWO sandwiches and pass on the soup.

EP, it takes too long to fry the spam and then make the grilled cheese.

At my funeral the two people that will attend will say, “with his diet, it’s a wonder he lived this long”.

    I save bacon grease.

There isn’t anything much better than having a grilled cheese made with bacon grease in a camper on the river.

I usually have one grilled cheese and one fried peanut butter sandwich.

BG, I watched that video. Looks good but there’s way too much work involved.

Hell, I use a George Foreman because it’s faster!

Technically, if you add a filling other than cheese (i.e. meat), it’s a melt, not a grilled cheese. coffee

(but I like both rotflol )
