Is there a decent post spawn bite near river mouths on west shore of green bay first weeks of May? If so what works best that time of year? Spring fishing here on the Mississippi a wash out due to flooding. Any info and tips appreciated.

They will usually stick around for a week or two from my experience.

Thanks Pat. Will try to catch a few of those that James released in the clips you posted. If weather allows will try the area early next week. Anyone have recommendations on where to stay or other info?

The Econolodge is fine. The Oconto Motel is a crap hole. Just got back Wednesday. All fish were post spawn.

Thanks mojogunter. Want to go this coming week but weather looks bad for days we wanted. Was at Dykesville on east side last June and complained about the motel there which is really run down to some other fishermen. They told us it was like the Taj Mahal compared to the one in Oconto. LOL. Can’t imagine.

I would also recommend the Econolodge if you are in the Oconto area. Plenty of power hookups in the parking lot as well. The post spawn bite lasts a few weeks. Plenty of time yet to make the trip. Don’t be afraid to try a few crawler harnesses. Might seem early but we have done well on ’em post spawn.
