    Hey Gang,

I got a wild hair and I’m think of making the road trip from New Richmond to Green Bay to try the walleye bite on the bay. Any launches that are good and are there any to avoid? I’m sure all will be busy but that’s ok. Is it better to launch in the city, or up the thumb, or on the wi mainland side? Thanks in advance!

I would launch close to where you want to fish. We have launched in Oconto and in Green Bay. I think you will find most of them are pretty nice. The water is high over there this year.

Thanks for the info. Oconto is actually one of the spots I was thinking of by just looking at Google maps… as far as where I’m fishing, I haven’t got that far yet. I know it’s a huge body of water. I’m guessing there are fish in many different locations? Thanks again!

Well…I gave it a shot…drove over on Saturday. Weather was beautiful. Boat launch was busy but good. Fishing was slow. Zero wind. Ground out 4 fish. Lost a wheel bearing just after leaving Oconto. Left the boat over there…good news is I’m going back Friday to “pick up the boat”…wify thinks this is all a scam to fish over there again….she may be on to something… peace

Trolling or did you find a jigging opportunity?

Thanks for reporting back. Sorry to hear you lost a wheel bearing. Good excuse to get back over there. The first few trips to a new lake are tough, but a guy has to start somewhere.

I trolled crank baits. Lots of people pulling blades. Saw a few guys jigging…tuff all over….

Pulling spinners was best for us the last 2 days. We probably shouldn’t have been out there yesterday. 2 over 27 yesterday. They had a tournament on Sunday out of Sturgeon Bay and guess there were guys with 53 pounds of AIM weight fishing by the islands.
