After a beautiful 4th of July weekend, Sunday afternoon/evening offered to be a wonderful time to find some footballs on Ten Mile lake in Dalton, MN. We started out in shallower water pitching tubes, stick jigs, and marabou jigs. Then moved to find weed beds in 8-13 FOW. This is where we had the most success catching large and small mouth as well as a couple of walleye. A slow retrieve is what really got them going, jigging every so often. Most of our bigger catches came off of the 5″ tube jigs with a rattle hook. This setup was almost automatic around feeding time. Our fish were in that 16-19.5″ range and boy did they fight hard! We threw any sort of color and it seemed to pay off. Can’t wait to get out again!
Until then, Fish On!
