Hello! Good news story. Several years ago I decided to buy a rifle that would suffice for all North American Game and most African Game. I bought a Savage 93 R17. Some of you know this is chambered in the venerable .17 HMR. Wicked little round. Of course I was kidding about big game. Anyways this little rifle is the flimsiest little rifle I have ever owned and has a thin sporter barrel, cheap synthetic stock, and gritty trigger. I did a trigger job, this one came out before the accu-trigger, and it breaks light and direct. I did top the rifle with quality steel mounts, rings, and scope. Always important. Anyways, It is one of the most accurate rifles that I own. Head shots on ground squirrels at 100 yards not uncommon, off of a solid rest. Much fun. Provided many squirrels, rabbits, woodchucks, raccoons, a few coyotes, a few fox, and vermin control. Fast forward several years, I began to have problems with it extracting the spent cartridge. I made sure it was clean and still the problem worsened. Today I called Savage Arms Customer Service. Advised them of the problem. They only required minimal information and never asked if I was the original owner, I am, or if I have receipt, when/where purchased etc. The nice CS Rep just did her thing, took my name and address, and advised me that a new magazine and extractor spring, along with repair instructions will be at my house in 3-5 business days. No charge. Say what you will about Savage, but they certainly made me smile today. There is a Caboose on this train, here it is.
Great Customer Service Story.
