Greasing your balls?

It’s one thing to grease your ball but it’s a whole ‘nother thing if you’re greasing the hitch.

This spring I didn’t have any grease handy so I used vaseline.
I did use a nitrile glove, though.

How can you worry about it looking a little rusty with raggedy old stickers left on it?

I heard from a reliable source that 6 inches wasn’t bad.

I don’t grease my balls but I do put lube on the shaft from time to time so it goes in and out of the receiver smoother .

Haven’t done that Gino, but I guess I do occasionally put Vaseline, on the male end of the harness before inserting into the female end. Gives a much better connection.

I don’t lube the shank before sticking it in the receiver anymore – that seemed like more mess than it was a benefit with how little movement there is in that joint.

Whenever my balls get scuffed up I give ’em a little shot of black spray paint. Stops the rust and matches my truck.

I just make sure to use my balls often enough so that they don’t get rusty.

I don’t always grease my balls, but when I do I use all natural eco friendly grease as I don’t want to harm the environment.

I see elsewhere on this site where people are discussing trying to prevent their hand tools from rusting and folks are going so far as to wax their tools, sometimes multiple coats of wax to try to keep hand tools from rusting. This seems to conflict with this thread where folks are simply ok with letting their balls rust and grind into their boat trailer couplers with no lube. Maybe we should all start waxing our balls?

Didn’t you see that movie? No way am I letting someone pour wax on my nuggets and rip the hair off!
