Not sure if that’s the correct title, but seeking someone who can create a company logo in a digital format to produce cards, signs, etc. Best option would be someone who does it after hours for cash, side job if you will, could even be a college student, not too picky.

Make sure you ask for the logo to be produced originally in Vector format. This includes formats such as .ai, .eps or the like.

If some artist tries to get too cute and build you a logo in some 3D program, you may be disappointed when you try to use the logo for other print applications. These vector formats will allow you to scale your logo to any size without loss of quality. Yes, you can still have a vector 3D looking logo. Just make sure you can get it delivered as vector.

Also, have that artist create several variations…one for light backgrounds and one for dark. Then both color versions and black and white versions. All vector.

    Thank me later.

Thanks guys. I had that concern of blowing up images and losing the quality, but didn’t know how to specify that, well now I do.

Had the perfectly EPIC name of Beaver Sawn Hardwoods for the business, have a little guy sitting on a log chewing on a stick that turns into a piece of flooring on the other end. Still wish I could have gone with that but opportunities have risen to expand into other surfaces and can’t be confined to one with a name, as sweeeet as it was.

Once all is said and done, name locked down through the SOS and logo accomplished I’ll rehash the thread see what the artist came up with.

Im having trouble getting to Tom, I sent a friend request but his email link doesn’t work.

Dane I’ll give you a call tomm. My brain is fried from diving into the legalities and tax implication/benefits from LLCs. Plus my pizza just got here and got to grab a Dew and get back into the books.

Thanks again everybody. Except Pug, can’t stop giggling over the first pic mrgreen

Well this requires further contemplation. I do like the original and attempting to not be hard headed about it, you do bring up a valid point in which other people will view it.

I know I’m not a fan of the white line, yes if fixed it would have a slight curve and bottom foot, it breaks up the simplicity for myself I’m not fond of. I’ll get Dane on here see what he thinks…..

I did send it to several people to critique beforehand and none mentioned the “P”, but they all knew the name, perhaps the mind attached to what we already know where you guys weren’t privy to that information.

    Take a look at 99designs at http://www.99designs.com.

I’ve used this site and run a contest. I was getting tired of trying to find the “right” designer for a given project and also the process seemed very limiting because many designers have trouble coming up with a variety of truly different design directions. What I tended to get was 1-2 directions and then just variations on those themes.

99designs was terrific. I was afraid we wouldn’t get designers interested because we aren’t a funky microbrewery or something, but I ended up with the high grade problem of WAY too many good designs to choose from. In retrospect, I’d have gotten plenty of choices at a lower level of contest, but as it was I paid $1200 for our contest, which is about 25% of what I spend on a designer for a new marketing concept.
