I’m just wondering if anyone here has heard how the fall trip went. Mostly curious. My partner and I signed up for the Rainy River trip and are waiting another year (next spring for sure! We hope).
Any IDO folks make the trip?
Thanks.

There was a post a week ago where Chris was ripped pretty bad regarding the trip. Since it really was a attack post it was taken down. Few details were posted, mostly just a attack.
Why was he ripped about the trip? Was it poorly run? Seemed a little too “commercial” for my personal taste, but to each his own. Shameless self-promotion is the name of the game in the fishing industry.
One doesn’t need to look any further than this site and it’s founder. And I’m not saying that’s bad. It is what it is.

It’s James sandbox and if we don’t like it we can go home. Self promotion is part of the fishing game however the thread from a week ago had nothing to do with promoting anything.
Nice that you quoted me without reading the part where I said, “I’m not saying it’s bad”.
Good Lord.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe you should’ve used Gillespie as an example.
That’s good to hear Stuart. Chris is a top-notch guy and fishing talent. I’m sorry that he and IDO had to part ways, but I get it.

Do we want to talk about me yet?

I reread this and decided that I don’t agree with self promotion.
For you, yes
Btw, do you realize the 2013 was the warmest year on record?
John,
I went on the trip. Overall we enjoyed the trip. The weather was perfect
the first 2 days then windy and rain on 3rd day.
My partner and I concentrated on Crappies the first 2 days and fished
walleyes for the last couple of hours each day, with good success on over
20 inch slot fish.
Some boats who fished Walleyes most of the day ended up with over 20 fish days for the first couple of days.
The accommodations at the Thunderbird were very good.
I’d do it again,
Jack

Go back and check your tree rings…
Speaking of which, we have a park here called big tree park. The oldest tree in the US used to reside there called the senator. Some crack head burnt it down. There is another cypress tree estimated to be 1,500 years old. Pretty impressive, Google it.
Nice transition to me, huh?
