Finally Froze Over…Well Almost

Did my routine afternoon drive today checking lakes…and low and behold Pokemaga is almost completely froze over witht the exception of the deep holes in the middle. I will be venturing out to check ice conditions Friday afternoon to see if I can get to one of my favorite points closer to shore. It won’t be long now and I will be able to get out to the reefs for some hog ‘eyes.

Heard today Splithand has 4 to 5 inches and my buddy picked up few crappies over the weekend. Should be plenty more reports to come over the weekend as we should be getting into the full swing of some great early ice fishing.

Do you ever fish little splithand, I have not for years.

No I haven’t but plan on getting out there this heard from a few local boys that the lake holds a lot of nice panfish. But most of the people I talk with fish it primarily in the summer. I have a friend that lives on Big Splithand so I usually go there cause he typically has the the fish located before I get there.
