Haven’t had much time to fish last few weeks other than taking a few people out for some panfish. Went out Saturday kept 30 gills all over 7″ and a few over 9″ for a fish fry with my parent in about 1 and a half.

So here is the skinny from the word on the water.

    Pokegama
With the cooler temps reports of the walleye bite is picking up. I am anticipating a good night bite next week as the full moon is getting closer. The sunfish bite is still hot and a few people have reported catching some crappies in the evening.

    Trout Lake
Heard the walleye bite along the weedline was on last week and imagine its still going on with the cooler nights we have been having. I would bet mornings and afternoons are best on the this lake.

    Deer Lake
No Walleye reports but heard the smallies are biting on jigs near the breaks all over the lake.

    Splithand
Heard of some guys catching crappies suspended in the hole and reports of walleyes getting caught in the evening.

    Winnie
I noticed no reports from Winnie lately, so here is what I know. Fish are being caught along the high banks and the north shore in 12 to 16 FOW. With the cooler nights we have been having the bite will only continue to get better.

I am planning no getting out a little more this week and will let you know how I do.

I have heard leech has been hit or miss from a few guys, but when its a hit they have caught a lot of fish.

Spent the past week @ Pokegama with the wife. We caught alot of nice northerns. 31″ the biggest. I caught 2 25″ walleyes, one 22″, and several eaters. Since I am not the greatest walleye fisherman, I was happy. Also caught several 15 to 19″ smallies that went after my nightcrawlers fishing for walleyes. My son came up midweek and caught a 37″ northern. One 25″ walleye was a real nice fish, but the other one was huge for a 25″ fish. Had to weight 2 lbs more than the other 25″ fish. Had nice weather, a good week.
