All right anyone who fishes Pokegama reading this probably thinks I am nuts, but I had to give it a try last night. I had some other obligations that kept me off the water til about 10 but was able to get out for about an 1 1/2 and actually caught one walleye bobber fishing on a sunken hump in 24′ of water on a leech. I may have to give this a try another time but I wouldn’t trade in my trolling rods just yet.

One of these nights I am going to get out and do some rap fishing on Pokegama as I continue to hear that there is still a decent bite going.

    GOOD LUCK FISHING!!!

Kind of an old reply, but I have caught a walleye here and there bobber fishing Pokeg. One nite you get 4or 5 and the next nite only rockbass. It never seems consistent bobber fishing.I hope to make it up there soon, I wanta bust out the downriggers and give those Lakers a shot.

The lakers are still biting, you will have to put some time in but you can catch them. If you do go out go with more than one person. I have been going by myself the last few times for a couple hours each and its hard to get the right color and depth when you only have one line in the water.

I hope to be up for the last 2 weekends in August.Have a roof to put on a friends house and some other before hunting season chores, but they will be 4 day weekends so I will have plenty of time to fish.I plan on at least 3 people in the boat maybe 4 if we feel like cramming in it.I figured 2 downriggers and 2 planer boards.I dont understand why we cant use 2 lines in the summer.Im not going to keep more fish its just easier to figure out whats working lure and colorwise without jamming the boat full of people

I agree with that statement. I fish by myself a lot and am always switching lures to find what works.
