Grandpa’s Fishing Rod

Hello, new to the forum and need some help. Going through my Grandpa’s fishing stuff I came across a rod I have never seen him use. He died in 1980 and I fished with him all through the 1970’s. It is a 2-piece 7’rod that has a cork handle with a red cap on the end. It is brownish in color and the only marking is 7S3B about 5″ above the handle. He primarily fished in Northern Wisconsin. My best guess is it is from the 1950’s. Anybody know the make / model of this?

Looks like it was rebuilt. My dad had a similar one that’s a Garcia rod

I’m going to say a re-wrap too. The forward cork and reel seat are give-aways as well as the wraps. Herters had rods that color.

Another unique feature is that the line guides all have nylon or ceramic synthetic inserts except for the tip.

    In this picture I’d swear that’s a Herter’s rod.

Old stuff was just cooler than how they make new stuff. No way around it, that old fishing rod looks awesome.

The earliest I can remember black reel seats like that was probably in the 70’s, maybe late 60’s. Were they made in the 50’s?

If it was Grandpas, hang it on the wall.
