How’s the snow pack on the bigger lakes in the area? Is a 4wheeler going to have trouble? I’m looking at heading up for Lake Trout this weekend. Thanks!

Was up north off Deer River last Friday. The snow was to deep on the lake I was fishing on, around 10 to 14 inches with lots of slush. Ended up having to walk out.

Yep, pretty much only way to get around up there is by snowmobile unless you use resort roads and now that eye and pike season is over not sure how much there maintained now. And the slush!

Geiger’s resort and Bowstring Shores have roads open on Bowstring. Haven’t heard how fishing is but if you go to their websites they have live webcams.
    Good Luck.

Thanks for the info, however I’d prefer to find somewhere with Lake Trout.

I just thought the webcams would give you an idea of snow conditions.
    Good Luck.
