I tested out my new Lakemaster map card in my Garmin Nuvi 1450 (5 in screen) today. It was a nice tool to have out on the boat. I was able to locate ideal locations for crappies and get right on top of them with ease. Most Nuvi units are not waterproof, however I used a ziplock freezer bag to put the unit in to keep water off of the unit. The touchscreen operation wasn’t affected at all and was able to see the screen just as clear as I can in the truck. The maps are at the most 3 foot contours and on the more popular lakes the maps have 1 foot contours with some vegetation and rocks displayed on the map. Also, has hazard buoys marked on the map. Boat ramp locations are also displayed on most lakes. It will be a nice tool to use this summer and next winter on the ice.
