I have a question. I keep hearing how good humminbirds and lake master chips are. Why do I see a ton of them for sale. Are people just upgrading and the chips aren’t compatible or are they just outdated chips? If they are so good why are people getting rid of them like the plague?

I see a few reasons you see lots of them for sale. Lakemaster has made chips for many years. Recent chips aren’t compatible with anything other than Hbird, so there is a market for much older chips for Lowrance units. Lakemaster also makes many regional and state chips, so more of them necessary to fish our great country. Most folks can get away using a single Navionics, Garmin or Lowrance chip.
