Gotta lead on 15"ers

A local showed me a pic of the Slabs he’s catching at an “un named” lake. I’ll be heading out this afternoon.

However – If I had a buck for each time I’ve chased down these leads only to get blanked I’d be a rich man.

I hope they have some 12″ers in there because I’m hungry. Heck, I’d take 10’s

    Stay tuned

You ever figure out how to catch those 16 inchers on Tonka eelpoutguy? They didn’t have the crappie contest last spring but I’m sure there would have been some weighed again.

I went twice in early May and the biggest I could find was 12.5 inches.

I haven’t but have seen them at weigh-in. Some of those that win are so freakin big they don’t even look like a crappie and THAT’S what I’m after today! woot

Good luck, EPG! Hope you find them because I always like seeing those ridiculously large manhole cover crappies.

And it’s not just one or two either. There’s like a dozen of those 15+ inchers every time too. It’s ridiculous

I hope you find em and ice a bunch. I’d rather be out on a lake by myself catching crappies than on a lake with 15,000 people catching anything.

There are four wheelers on some Lakes already here in Alexandria. I would sure think there would be walkable ice up there!

Sounds good, Joe. I was more curious about Roosevelt to be specific. It’s a deep lake

I’m not EPG but I’ve drove by Roosevelt millions of times, no way there’s walkable ice on Roosevelt yet. At the current rate and temps be lucky by new years

Got out at 1:30. Battery died in the Livescope and 2 minutes later in the Marcum.
1/2 hour round trip and I was back in action.
    6″ of good ice.
Took 30 holes and an hour of hole hoping before the locators lit up. (This lake is so small there is no mapping contours.)
40+ Fow, Livescope will be fun but I still need to educate myself a bit more.
The Smitty is the rats ass and it would have been awfully hard to access this lake without it.
I was using a small perch color jiggin rap, my buddy was using a small rainbow colored buckshot. Both of us were using minnow heads.
We both ended up with 9 because once we hit nine we switched to larger rigs to try and get a 15.
    The biggest was 14.
    Great first hard ice outing.

Had the lake to ourselves. Serenity now!!!

So it technically wasn’t a lead on 15”ers. But not far off

Going to have to get the in-depth outdoors crew out there. And show them how to properly slice limes for Coronas.

    good job brother !!
however,I would of been pissed if I spent that kind of coin on a new unit and the battery died in a half hours time!!!
I am guessing you and the battery suffered with/from corona???
