I spoke with them by phone. I ordered 1. Delivery is to Pete’s Meat in Lewiston Mn. June 18th butchering was the soonest.

That’s close to SE Mn and western Wi.

Has anyone actually found a place that will sell a pig to an individual, meaning you go there and leave with a dead (hopefully gutted) pig? There was a guy Dave Woestehoff on fox 9 saying he wanted to sell to hunters but there is no contact info. I contacted Brad from Kulver on Facebook and he said no.

Both these places are under an hour from the metro. The pigs are out there, I just cant find them.

I inquired about taking two live hogs and was told no by two seperate farms. My best friend’s father owns a small town butcher shop and said he’d gladly take them live in the chute like he does his regular hogs. I was extremely disappointed that although these farmers want to get rid of hogs “so badly” they wouldn’t let me pay to take two off their hands. They wanted me to pay (which I was willing to do), but then they transport to their butcher…which I don’t want to do as I’d take care of it on my own to the place I prefer.

Suddenly I feel a whole lot less worse for the situation they are in.

Yes. The Dave guy on the news literally said he wants hunters to step up because he cant take just wasting the pigs. How can Joe suburb who has the tools and know how to process a pig possibly transport a live pig? Seems a pig farm would have a front loader and could bury some guts if they really care that the animals are utilized and want some quick cash.

When I have that day filled for that locker I will call the Locker and give them the names and numbers of the individuals who have purchased hogs from us. I would guess they mean using Zelle since he said “from your bank account”. Zelle is what a lot of banks use for transferring between people.

Why wouldn’t he call you back and speak to you in person? Had I got that response in a email or text I’d file it with the Nigerian prince who wanted to give me a million $ if I would just send him a thousand first. If I couldn’t speak to a live person or get a verifiable physical address they will get my money when their pigs can fly. Scammers are quick to exploit any situation, This current situation we find ourselves in has good intentioned people quick to react on their emotions in order to “help” someone which makes it ripe for scammers. Beware. Not saying this is a scam just saying I would require more than a text like that before I’d send money to a email address.

I am wondering if the scammers are already out on this. I saw a CL ad that said Kluver farms was bringing a truckload of pigs to the north metro to sell. The phone number on it was a 952 – not the one listed above, and I had already contacted Kluver farms an hour before through their Facebook and was told they were not selling to individuals.

I would be very leery of bank transfers before getting anything.
