Hoping the offense scores at will and the defense helps a little…
Gophs missed a big opportunity there at the end of the first half..
Why wouldn’t you call timeout with 3 seconds left and send them all to the house and heave it ? Never know, a penalty in the end zone… I agree, against Ohio State, you have to get every offensive snap you can.
I wouldn’t want to be in the Ohio States locker room at half. There’s gonna be some explaining to do!
Great first half!
Holy cow what a turning point. A pass interference penalty followed by a nullified OSU interception from roughing the passer and then a resulting MN touchdown.
Henderson, good night.
Sorry, Gophers, great attack!!
I’m just happy they looked like the 2019 team again. Kept fighting and were never out of it. Pretty good for the first game of the year against one of the best teams in the country.
Still don’t have a defense though. That’s their biggest issue.
Die hard Badger fan but was cheering for the Gophers. Hate OS.
It looks like Ibrahim is done for the year and then so are the Gophers. No depth at running back. Mediocre quaterback at best. Does he ever have a second receiver in mind? Linebackers still suck. #55 is usually near the runner/receiver but trailing them, just like last year. How many “big” plays did OSU get, 5? Fleck said his goal was to make the OSU coaches coach. Well he did and got his ass handed to him.

P.S. The worst reffing in the secondary I have ever seen. The non-calls were going both ways too.
If Ibrahim is done for the year hopefully he goes the route of a medical redshirt and can be back next year. He likely would’ve gotten drafted so it’s possible he goes that route and enters the draft, but I’m not sure where he would land in this year’s RB class.
I only was able to catch bits and pieces of the 2nd half, thought I heard something about when Autman-Bell gets back? Did he miss the game or just miss some time? I’m not saying he’s a Tyler Johnson or Rashod Bateman but he’s pretty good himself.

I thought I heard he dressed and warmed up, but then shut it down and couldn’t go.
The loss of Ibrahim for the season is arguably their best player. He could have led the entire conference in rushing. I thought they were going to go about 7-5 this season and make a mediocre bowl game but now I think without him they are 6-6 at best, or a sub .500 team.
They hung in there pretty well last night. Wasn’t overly impressed with the Buckeyes.

He was fully dressed on the sidelines, but for some reason didnt go. Dealing with a leg injury and wet conditions was probably kept out for precautionary reasons.
Bummer about Ibrahim, but those who follow the team very closely say they have some good depth at RB. Pitts isnt bad, but I dont know who the others are. They will be thrust into action now so we will soon find out.

Trey Potts and Cam Wiley will be the other two who are scheduled to see competitive carries in 2021. Potts ran for 121 yards and 1 touchdown ( 6.4 YPC) but Wiley was right there with him, posting 179 yards and 1 touchdown (6.2 YPC).
People forget about Bryce Williams but he has quite a bit of game experience too. In 2018, as a true freshman, Williams posted 502 yards and 4 touchdowns on 117 carries (4.3 YPC) . The two youngsters, however, might have the most untapped talent of any running back in the room.
Ky Thomas was the 2019 Gatorade POY in the state of Kansas and one of Fleck’s top recruits that cycle (4-star – 90/100 Rating – 247Sports). Mar’Keise Irving won’t be outdone, however. He was one of PJ’s biggest gets in the 2020 cycle and holds an even higher rating at 247Sports (4-star – 92/100 rating). Neither kid is expected to get much run this season but the future is just as bright as the present when it comes to Minnesota Gophers running backs.
