I hear that Good Year Marathons are being made once again in USA and not China anymore.
Do you think that they are of the best 6 ply load range C trailer radial tires or not?

Then how about Goodyear Endurance trailer tires.

They are made in USA and are a load range D and a speed rating of N for today’s interstate systems to 87 mph.

I searched for some info on these but found only the mention of them with out the results for them on the road by IDO members.

I put the endurance model on our camping trailer last season. They seemed to help the trailer sway less. I have been concerned about the Carlisle’s on my boat trailer since day one, so here at year 4 I put the endurance tires on it yesterday. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but feel great about speed rating and load range bump.

I put them in my trailer last year as well…. wanted the speed rating and a tire I trusted more than the “old” marathons. Tire shop suggested running them on the low side of the pressure range with the lighter boat as they were known to be stiff at the weight rating. Like anything, I love them until they fail and tear everything up like the marathons had done more than once.

    Thanks for the reviews guys.

I’ve had my Marathons on this trailer since I bought it new in March of 2011. I’ve had one tire that was wearing very oddly since last trip of last year, so I changed it out with one of my spares that have never been on the road. Then just after coming back home from pool 4 a week ago, I decided to do a total break job on my 4 wheeled disk brakes. I noticed 2 of the other tires having a minor wear issue and decided to replace the 4 tires that have always been on the road and keep the two mounted spares as they are.

As I stated, a known boy from Iowa here mentioned that Marathons are being made back here in the USA and no longer China. When I was researching I could not find that in evidence as yet, maybe too early. That was when I ran across the Endurance tire from Goodyear. I don’t really need the extra load rating but the speed rating plus they are made in USA is a positive for me. The lesser depth of tread is a non issue.

    Denny,
I agree with you, there’s no recent evidence of Marathon’s being produced in the US currently. 10 years ago, sure. I had a set of those.

I expect that you’ll be happy with the new Endurance tires, it would be nice if they’d expand down to the 12 & 13″ rim sizes too,,,,,

From the Goodyear corporate news site, there is more.

    “New Endurance features Durawall Technology

AKRON, Ohio, January 30, 2017 – For years, hobbyists who tow boats, jet skis and snowmobiles to recreational destinations have asked for an American-manufactured trailer tire to help carry their cargo with confidence. Millions of workers who haul equipment from job to job have echoed that desire.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has answered that call with the new Endurance trailer tire, which was unveiled this week during Goodyear’s 2017 Customer Conference in Orlando, Fla.”

Reading that when I was contemplating the tires help push me over the edge. A blown trailer tire sucks…. fenders and more damage… and it happens in a heart beat. I had no confidence before. Feel good w these.

Good to hear Chuck! I took out my front tire on my first tandem trailer that in turn blew out the rear tire. That on the road side moment lead me to mount 2 spares on my existing trailer that replaced it. The 2 flats made a burn spot in my fender for its life until I replaced the trailer.

    Memories we learn from, eh?
