Due to the warm weather and busy life I haven’t fished on hard water yet this year. Late this afternoon/evening I went out to a watershed pond in Goodhue County. Usually if I haven’t seen ice depth myself I’m pretty skeptical until I can measure it myself. I was very surprised to see 9″ on my first measurement. The lowest I measured was between 6-7 inches. Obviously this isn’t an endorsement to not worry about ice again this year, obviously each body of water is different so use your own judgment and experience to be safe, I was just surprised to see that today.
