Walleye fishing remains pretty good on Leech lake. I am still using a jig and shiner (goldies) and am getting most fish in less then 12ft. Some fish have hit a leech on a rig but the jig is still my go-to. This will change im sure in the upcoming week or so. Most of our fish over the last 2 weeks have been well off shore on sand flats or extended shallow shorelines. Schools seem to be looser than a week or so ago but we are still seeing limits more days then not and as always a few slot fish each day. Water temps have been in the low to mid 60’s and with a big warm up coming next week water temps will rise. I noticed today that walleyes were spitting up crawfish so if you know where they are you should be able to find some walleyes.

Nice report Tom! Did you happen to fish the tourney up there last weekend? I heard similar reports about the crayfish from a few buddies that fished it.
